As most of you already know, this is my first pregnancy. As I began this journey I did not know what to expect. I've been very grateful to have many of my family and friends willing to answer
any questions that I may have along the way. I also follow a couple of bloggers that have helped
me as well! I want to give anyone that might be curious an update about what it has been like for me so far during my pregnancy.
In the first trimester, my husband and I found out that I was pregnant when I was about five weeks along. We waited to tell our family and friends until I was twelve weeks pregnant (minus our parents who already knew) to be on the safe side. In December, some of my family members went on a trip to Key West. We thought it would be the perfect time to tell our family members the amazing news. We told them on Christmas Eve and posted an official pregnancy announcement on social media Christmas Day.
I did not notice many changes in the first trimester. I could still wear my pre-pregnancy clothes and did not experience any morning sickness. Although, I could barely eat any food!
I've had several doctors appointments which included my mid-pregnancy ultrasound. This is where we found out the sex of our baby! We also were told that everything is going well and that our baby is healthy and growing fast!
The second trimester is where I experienced the typical pregnancy symptoms. I was sick ALL DAY. The constant nausea was draining but I could finally eat some real food. I was craving sweets but hated the smell of steak. I invested in a belly band to extend the life of my pre-pregnancy clothes but I officially caved and purchased a pair of maternity jeans when I was around twenty one weeks pregnant.
I am now officially in the third trimester! As promised, I told you all that I would also share my experience throughout the final months. I am almost thirty-six weeks and cannot wait to meet my baby! I feel him move constantly and his movement has been getting stronger and stronger every day! I have experienced some nausea again here and there but it is not anywhere near what I went through at the beginning. I've had some braxton hicks contractions and feel quite a bit of pressure down there! I also have started packing our hospital bags and installed the car seat to be prepared. Time is moving fast and he will be here very soon! Keanu and I are excited to be parents!
Thank you so much for reading and learning about my journey so far. Stay tuned for updates!
-Love, Olivia
